Working Together - 10/09/04
Well, hello again everyone. Today's show went really well. No guests. No trouble. It was pretty fun. I was kind of digging through some stuff to find stuff I wanted to hear and with a few exceptions it was all as good as I wanted it to be.
I would have probably not played Robert Palmer - Pressure Drop. I like that version a lot but it just wasn't what I wanted to hear right there. I really wanted to hear My City Was Gone by The Pretenders but that, apparently, is not on the Singles (Greatest Hits) disc so I played Talk of the Town instead. The David Gray song wasn't as lively as I'd remembered either. I should have picked a different one there as well. And I wouldn't have played the Pink song that I played either but I forgot that that was the one that it was. Did you follow that? Basically I would have just picked a different track (again). And, finally, The Apartments song from the Some Kind of Wonderful Soundtrack just stopped mid-track. Probably due to some kind of scratch or gunk on the disc but it just stopped with no skipping or anything. It was really very weird.
I did play PSA's and stuff today but that's when I changed the discs so that's why they're not listed.
It's come to my attention that some people can't remember what time (or day) my show is on. Saturdays from noon until 2 p.m. This is for people who would like to listen on-line. This can be done by visiting www.bates.edu/wrbc and following the appropriate links and subsequent instructions on the left hand side of the page. As far as I know it's pretty self-explanatory. I'm not sure of that though so don't hold me to it. If you can't figure it out, e-mail me and I'll try to get some answers for you. At this time you can only listen to my show on-line while it's going on. As some of you who are familiar with WRBC know this isn't how it has always been. At one time there was an archive. I've asked several times about bringing this back and it seems that it's in the works but I wouldn't hold my breath. So for the time being, if you're home between noon and 2 p.m. on Saturdays, turn your computer on and listen in. And if you're feeling really ambitious you can call the station at 777-7915 or 777-7916.
