Are You There? - 10/02/04

So, today's show featured a few in-studio guests. I was joined by Alicia Ford and Rick Haney and Chris Kelley (CK). All in all it was pretty fun. The beginning of the show was kind of a mess as people were attempting to fix one of the in-studio speakers which was just flopping around (tape was the answer in case anyone cares) and one of the computer guys was in trying to fix up the web stream. After that all cleared out though things got under way. There was more talking than usual today and we took two phone calls on the air (Adrianne Robert called to remind me to buy Powerball tickets and then we got a solicited call from Josh Nason to round out the show).

We played all kinds of stuff but not too much new. Remy Zero, The Shins and Nick Drake were all from the Garden State Soundtrack. Counting Crows and Five For Fighting were from Alicia's collection. Rick picked Ben Folds Five and The Beta Band.

There was a lot of disorganization during today's show though and because of that I'm not even sure where the CD break was. Below is a close approximation.

CD1

Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
(skippy - played most but then turned it off)
Finley Quaye and William Orbit - Dice
Jack Johnson - #4 or #5 from Inaudible Melodies
Remy Zero - Fair
AC/DC - If You Want Blood
ZZ Top - La Grange
Big Head Todd - Sister Sweetly
A little Rick thing (actually a pretty funny little prank call from the old college days)
Counting Crows - Mrs. Potter's Lullaby

CD2

The Modifiers - Favorite Waitress
Iggy Pop f/ Kate Pierson - Candy
Five For Fighting - American Town
The Shins - The New Slang
The Donnas - 40 Boys in 40 Nights
Cibo Matto - Sci-Fi Wasabi
Jimmy Buffett - The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful
Nick Drake - One of These Things First
The Beta Band - Dry the Rain
5,6,7,8s - Woo Hoo
Guru f/ Macy Gray - All I Said
Ben Folds Five - Your Redneck Past
Dead Milkmen - Bitchin' Camaro
U2 - Trip Through Your Wires
(we talked to nason through the end of this song)
