First Day Back - 3/21/05
Okay, so today was my first day back from vacation and I was so not completely into doing my radio show (check out the end of the list). Which is kind of lame I know but 8 or 9 days (I'm not even really sure how long I was gone - how sad is that?) away from home will do that to you.
Anyway, I started the show with Finley Quaye as I almost always do now and then moved into my plan of playing all stuff I'd heard while I was drinking my way down 6th Street in Austin at the South By Southwest Film & Music Festival.
Well, I had my little list in hand I wandered around the studio looking for bands to play. I found Daniel Johnston and more Cracker. Not a very good showing. I'm going to have to look around a bit harder at the studio and download a few I think.
But for the most part CD1 is stuff I saw at the festival. And before you get all excited and say "Holy crap, Jason. Are you telling me X reunited?" I didn't see X (although both Exene and John Doe were in town for seperate shows), I only saw Exene and her new band Original Sinners. But I didn't have any of that stuff for my show. And I also saw Magnapop (see CD2) one night.
I will also - in the next couple of weeks - do a couple of shows of stuff I wanted to see at SXSW but didn't get to for one reason or another.
Enjoy the list.
